Is the destiny of every person already written and sealed? If so, can anyone change it? Does the sub-conscious mind have the power to alter the destiny by positive thinking alone? Welcome to ‘Altered Destiny’ a book based on human optimism, faith and belief. It is the story of Yashwant Rathore, a jailor who always tries to transform every prisoner in his jail. He treats all the prisoners with compassion, counsels and motivates them to lead a positive life after their release. His life changes one day … when he decides to reform the notorious criminal Dilawar Khan by using the power of his sub-conscious mind. However, his dreams are shattered when Dilawar Khan escapes from the prison in a daring adventurous drama and continues to execute the tasks assigned by the ‘Organization’. But Yashwant does not give up and continues to believe that Dilawar Khan would be reformed one day… Strangely enough, Dilawar Khan comes across certain extra-ordinary situations while executing his ‘tasks’ which show him an unknown new side of life, which is full of innocence, hope, love and spirituality. In order to avoid being caught by the police and the Organization, Dilawar Khan turns fugitive and stays incognito. Would Yashwant’s sub-conscious mind succeed in eventually reforming Dilawar Khan? How would the ‘Organization’ react to Dilawar Khan’s new ideology, which is based on love and compassion? Would the law ever catch up with Dilawar Khan and punish him for the crimes committed by him earlier in his life? Can a reformed criminal live a peaceful life? What does the human side of a terrorist look like? Altered Destiny is an interesting fast-paced story with several twists and turns which will keep the reader glued to the book till the very end. The book also attempts to explore whether ‘World Peace’ can be attained through the power of sub-conscious mind, thereby altering the global destiny.

Growth is forecasted to slow down for the Middle East and North Africa region. The war in Ukraine in 2022 exacerbated inflationary pressures as the world recovered from the COVID 19 pandemic-induced recession. The response by central banks to raise rates to curb inflation is slowing economic activity, while rising food prices are making it difficult for families to put meals on the table. Inflation, when it stems from food prices, hits the poor harder than the rich. Moreover, food insecurity in MENA has been rising over decades. The immediate effects of food insecurity can be a devastating loss of life, but even temporary increases in food prices can cause long-term irreversible damages, especially to children. The rise in food prices due to the war in Ukraine may have altered the destinies of thousands of children in the region, setting them on paths to limited prosperity. Food insecurity imposes challenges to a region where the state of child nutrition and health were inadequate before the shocks from the COVID-19 pandemic. The report discusses policy options and highlights the need for data to guide effective decision making.

Few only know that he also was a gifted thinker and poet. Sun Ra's poetry leaves everything behind what's called contemporary, and flings out pictures of infinity into the outer space. These poems are for tomorrow. This is the only edition of Sun Ra's complete poetry and prose in one volume. The Contributors James L. In answering the question of life’s meaning, the African perspective is only just beginning to emerge. While this is true, a critical examination of African theories of meaningfulness, the possibility of life’s meaninglessness, as well as ideas about the proper mode/mood for living with the meaninglessness of life are largely underexplored within the African philosophical tradition. This book provides several plausible accounts of meaning in/of life from an African perspective, examines the relationship between death and life’s meaningfulness, and explores the possibility of life’s meaninglessness, proposing the “philosophy of indifference” as the proper mode/mood for living with the meaninglessness of life.
Sword in hand, crouching, Auragole waited. He was still weak, had not recovered his strength after the boat wreck and the fever that had followed it. Though it was morning and the mountain air still cool, sweat trickled down his nose. He heard the methodical sound of a sword thwack-whacking the bare bushes to his left. If he waited until the soldier found him entangled in the whackle bush, his arm wouldn't be free to strike. If he stepped out into the open, he would have to kill or be killed, and he had never killed a man before. But why was he being pursued? Who considered him an enemy? No time to ponder that now. As the sound, thwack-whack, thwack-whack, came closer, Auragole decided to face his pursuer. He stepped out from behind the bush. The soldier saw him. "He's here!" he barked, signaling the men above. His opponent crouched down, holding the sword with both hands. Auragole could see the fear on his face.... Auragole hesitated, stunned that the enemy had such a human and familiar face. "Strike, Bororr, fool!" came the command from above them. Bororr lifted his sword and brought it down like a hatchet.... Author Shirley Latessa continues the exciting adventures of Auragole in Auragole of the Way, the second novel in the quartet, "Auragole's Journey."
