Excerpt from Alphabetical Index of the Births, Marriages and Deaths, Recorded in Providence: Deaths, From 1881 to 1890 Inclusive This index contains the names of those persons who have died in this city, and of those who have died elsewhere, and have been brought here for burial, and also of still-born children. No distinction is made in this volume between the three classes of names except that of course the still-born have no Chris tian names; but there are some deaths of living children recorded where the death occurred before the child was named, and a blank therefore is found in the index in place of the Christian name.
