Like other artists of his generation, for Aloïs Godinat the idea was to start over again without disowning, use without quoting, propose without constraining, question without using rhetoric. Re-pasted posters, reconstructed obsolete objects, and generic elements (rods, sticks, and suchlike) indicating some potential use, make up the artist's repertoire of forms and gestures. Forms and gestures, for, as with the American, Trisha Donnelly or the American-Cuban duo, Allora & Calzadilla, underlying Godinat's art there is a two-fold paradigm of music and performance. This duality is present both in the works and in the concepts used (amplification, repetition, partition, register, play, etc.). In that sense, Aloïs Godinat has something of a pacified heritage at his disposal; as one who says he is interested in the 'design' of paintings by Christopher Wool and Ed Ruscha, he can address the question of appropriation from the standpoint of music (as did Francis Baudevin in his own way), and Conceptual art under the performative aegis of Fluxus. Published with l'espace lausannois d'art contemporain (l'elac), Lausanne, and the Kunsthalle Bern. English text. Also available as a French edition ISBN 9783037640456
Written by the creator of Rieke metals, valuable for chemical reaction methods and efficiency, this groundbreaking book addresses a significant aspect of organic and inorganic chemistry. The author discusses synthetic methods, preparation procedures, chemical reactions, and applications for highly reactive metals and organometallic reagents. • Addresses a new generation of chemistry that goes beyond the standard use of metals and activation • Provides step-by-step guidelines, chemical equations, and experimental descriptions for handling metals including zinc, magnesium, copper, indium, nickel, manganese, calcium, barium, iron, palladium, platinum, uranium, thorium, aluminum, cobalt, and chromium • Uses a unique approach to highlight methods and techniques that make chemical synthesis and activation of Rieke metals more safe and efficient • Discusses novel applications and special topics, such as highly reactive metals for novel organometallic reagents, semiconducting polymers, plastics electronics, photovoltaics, and the Reformatsky reagent
If everyone in the organization leapt into their workday as if they owned the place, just think what could be accomplished.
68 artistas suizos e internacionales analizan a través de sus obras los valores cambiantes e identidades desplazadas como consecuencia de la globalización contemporánea.
For the New Century Issue of the journal "Theroretical Chemistry Accounts" the advisory editors identified papers from the first century of theoretical chemistry and discussed their importance for the twentieth century with an eye towards the twenty-first century. Sixty-six such perspectives are published in the New Century Issue. To make this unique collection available to younger scientists for entertaining reading and re-reading of the original publications, the publisher decided to reprint a special edition of the issue.
The Pauson-Khand reaction is an important reaction in the field of organic chemistry. It involves the transition-metal catalysed cycloaddition of an alkyne, an alkene and carbon monoxide, to produce cyclopentenones. The importance of this reaction originates from its high value in transforming simple components into the synthetically useful cyclopentenone unit, in which a high degree of molecular complexity can be achieved in a single step, with impressive stereochemical and regiochemical control. The Pauson-Khand Reaction investigates the nature and many variations of this reaction. Topics covered include: the mechanisms of Pauson‐Khand-type reactions non chiral intramolecular and intermolecular versions of Pauson‐Khand reactions asymmetric Pauson‐Khand reaction using chiral auxiliaries the enantioselective Pauson‐Khand reaction Pauson‐Khand reactions catalysed by metals other than cobalt unconventional Pauson‐Khand reactions the Pauson‐Khand reaction in total synthesis Presenting a comprehensive overview of this fundamental reaction, The Pauson-Khand Reaction will find a place on the bookshelves of any organic or organometallic chemist.
