Feesof commis-114. For every certificate issued by a commissioner to a "censes11 person desiring, or who ought to obtain a license, the commissioner shall be entitled to a fee of seventy-five cents. He shall also receive a fee of fifty cents for a transfer of a Who to pay fee license. All such fees shall be paid by the person obtaining the certificate or transfer, as the case may be; and where the person, firm or company applies for a certificate, thd same may be withheld until the fees are paid. The commissioner shall, for the assessment of taxes on licenses, be allowed a commission of one per centum on the first five thousand dollars assessed in his district, one-half of one per centum on the excess over five thousand dollars and under ten thousand dollars, and for the excess over ten thousand dollars he shall be allowed one-fourth of one per centum on such excess; which commission shall be paid out of the treasury by warrant from the auditor of public account?. Approved Murch 29, 1877. 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That it shall not when unlawful be lawful for any person to kill or capture, or offer for sale tridges, or buy, any partridges or quail, between the first day of February and the first day of November of each year, within this state; nor shall it be lawful to capture partridges at any time by means of nets or traps of any kind until after the expiration of two years from the passage of this act. 2. Excerpt from Acts and Joint Resolutions Passed by the General Assembly of the State of Virginia: During the Extra Session of 1902-3-4 Whereas, by an act of the general assembly of Virginia, approved Feb ruary twenty-fourth, nineteen hundred, the town council of Luray, Vir ginia, were authorized and empowered= by the issue and sale of bonds of said: town to borrow a sum of money, not exceeding thirty-five thousand dollars, for the purpose of constructing and establishing a system of water works in and for the use of the said town; and, Whereas, the said sum of money was realized in the manner provided in said act, and said system of water works has been constructed and com pleted at a less cost than thirty-five thousand dollars, and there is a bal ance of said fund in the treasury of the said town, and it is necessary, and it is desired by the citizens of the said town, to construct a new bridge within the corporate limits of said town: therefore.
