The reafon alligned for this is, that, by the marine law, an indg'inite innavigability is never claffed among the perils to which the infurer is liable; be cattfe a thing fo fubjeel to be injured by time and the ufe which is made of it, cannot be fuppofed always to retain its original ilate; and that, though a {hip may, at the time of her departure, appear capable of performing the voyage infured; yet, if the voyage fhould prove longer than afnal, her internal defeets will fometimes become apparent, from time, from the preifure of the cargo, and from the a&ion of the feas, without any extraordinary accident.
