Robert Smith (1623/1626-1693) emigrated about 1638 from England to Boston, Massachusetts, married Mary French about 1656, and settled in Rowley (later Boxford), Essex County, Massachusetts. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New York, Illinois, Nebraska, Minnesota, Washington and elsewhere.
George Albert Smith (1817-1875), a Mormon convert, was born in Potsdam, New York and died in Salt Lake City, Utah. Includes some ancestry (chiefly in New England and New York), and many descendants in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Idaho, Nevada, California and elsewhere.
Descendants are located in Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama.
