In the very small school the book cases are generally placed in the study hall and the' pupils have continuous access to the books; the study hall teacher or the principal usually exercises some slight supervision over the library. In the school of medium size the library frequently is housed in some separate room which is kept locked much of the time since the teaching force of the school is not large enough to allow of much library supervision. In the larger schools the library is generally located in a room apart from the study hall, a librarian or teacher librarian being in charge at all times.
