Jacob Hockman Jr. (1711-1759) was probably born in Ibersheim, Germany. In about 1731 he immigrated to America and settled in Pennsylvania and later the Shenendoah Valley in Virginia. He married Mary Denlinger and they became the parents of four children. Descendants live in West Virginia, Ohio and other parts of the United States.
Ancestry is traced to Hans Gerberich (1613-1681) of Altfled bei Marktheidenfeld, Germany. Two grandsons, Hans and Michael, immigrated to Pennsylvania in 1751. Hans had married Christine Schuch in 1727. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, New York, Illinois, Michigan, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, California and elsewhere.

John Valentine Kratz (1707-1780) emigrated from Germany to America on the ship "Friendship" in 1727, settling in Salford Township, Philadel phia (now Montgomery) County, Pennsylvania. He was married to Ann Clemens, by whom he had nine children. Many descendants of this large Mennonite family remained in Pennsylvania, while others migrated to Canada or moved into many other of the United States.
