Probes the explosion of the center gun on the USS Iowa, a disaster that killed several sailors onboard instantly, and the fouled investigation that took followed, resulting in a large-scale cover-up that almost ruined forever the reputation of innocent men.
In a dimly lit cell, a man has awakened to find himself surrounded by the most unimaginable and barbaric things that not even his worst nightmare could conjure up. His captor, Seth Coker, takes the man on a journey into his twisted world of vengeance. A world that runs parallel with the horrors that could only be found in the deepest and darkest parts of hell. A world that bestows a wrath of chaos upon the wicked of our society who have fallen through the cracks of the judicial system. Seth wasn't born a vigilante, nor did he seek out the role-it sought him out. A portion of our society feels that rapists, molesters, murderers and abusers should have rights, and anything beyond the normal punishment of confinement would be cruel and inhumane. Seth knows that the innocent are left without justice, while the wicked are roaming our streets without any remorse about the cruel and inhumane punishment that they bestow upon others. Offering up heart-pumping tales of revenge, suspense and horror in all its guises, this book is filled with dark humor, political incorrectness, gruesome and sadistic acts from beginning to end. WARNING! Contains GRAPHIC CONTENT, ADULT LANGUAGE & POLITICAL INCORRECTNESS, and may be disturbing to sensitive readers.

For over two decades, Amnesty International has been at the forefront of the international campaign against torture. For the first time, Amnesty International has commissioned the foremost experts in the field to write about the history of torture, the methods used, the torturers themselves, and their victims. A Glimpse of Hell is the result. Throughout recorded history, humans have deliberately subjected others to physical pain and mental anguish, sometimes in spite of laws prohibiting such behavior, sometimes with the full backing of the legal system. Early chapters offer a historical overview of torture and its popular and legal meanings, and examine its relationship with the law. Other contributions address specific methods used by torturers, their effects, and approaches for treating torture survivors. The terror of torture is not confined to the individual victim. Several essays discuss its consequences for other citizens, specifically for women, children, and the family. They also provide resources for documenting and combatting torture when it happens. The volume concludes with a political strategy concerning what can be done to put a stop to torture worldwide. Published to coincide with Amnesty International's most ambitious campaign against torture for over a decade, A Glimpse of Hell serves as a broad and authoritative source of information on torture throughout the world, all in one accessible and chilling volume.
A wrenching and layered debut novel about a gay teen’s coming-of-age in the aftermath of his father’s suicide Colin’s family is dissolving in the aftermath of his father’s suicide. While his mother, Diane, retreats into therapy and cynicism, Colin clings to every shred of normal life. Awash with guilt, he casts about for someone to confide in: first his estranged grandfather, then a predatory science teacher. Shunned by his siblings and rejected by his homophobic best friend, Colin immerses himself in the notebooks his father left behind. Full of strange facts, lists, and historical anecdotes that neither Colin nor Diane can understand, the notebooks infect their worldview until they can no longer tell what’s real and what’s imagined. A novel of aching intensity, Some Hell shows how unspeakable tragedy shapes a life, and how imagination saves us from ourselves.
A short account is about a New Zealand boy traveling the world and getting stung by box jellyfish in Mauritius. It tells of the ordeal he goes through to get treatment and how in hospital he briefly dies before being eventually resuscitated. During this small time of "death" he believes he discovered an afterlife.
This is book three in the A Glimpse into Hell series, and was written for the extreme gore lovers. The story is pure gore for the sake of gore. The main character, Seth Coker, and his sidekick, Barry Muller, hold nothing back as they inflict the most gruesome and sadistic acts of torture on the criminals and lowlifes of our society. This book is extremely graphic, but it's also filled with dark humor. Splatterpunk gets straight to the gore and has very little storyline compared to the first two books in this series. It jumps from one gory scene after another without any rhyme or reason. WARNING: This book is extreme and contains filthy, grotesque and brutal torture scenes. It contains GRAPHIC CONTENT, ADULT LANGUAGE & POLITICAL INCORRECTNESS, and may be disturbing to sensitive readers.
Randy Kraft was highly intelligent, politically active, loyal to his friends, committed to his work--and the killer of 67 people--more than any other serial killer known. This book offers a glimpse into the dark mind of a living monster. "To open this book is to open a peephole into hell".--Associated Press. Photographs.
A damned man struggles to find meaning in a library, the dimensions of which are measured in light years.
Close your eyes and picture -- just for a moment -- hell. Fire? Demons? Eternal torment? Well, yes -- that's the place, in one very hot nutshell. But that's not all there is to the forbidding world beneath us. For a few millennia now, we mortals have imagined and reimagined hell in countless ways: as a realm of damnation, as an inspiration for highest art, as a setting for the lowest of lowbrow comedy. One might conclude that for all our good intentions to enter para- dise, we can't seem to get enough vivid details of its counterpart, hell. Provocative, colorful, and damned entertaining, Go to Hell takes readers on a tour of the underworld that is both darkly comical and seriously informative. From the frozen hell of the Vikings to the sun-drenched Cayman Islands' town of Hell (where tourists line up to have their postcards aptly postmarked), from Dante's circles of hell to Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Hellmouth, Go to Hell embraces our evolving relationship with the sinner's final destination, revealing how we truly think of ourselves in this world. What's down below? Meet HEL, the hideous, half-rotting goddess of the Viking underworld. Beware the Egyptians' AM-MUT, an unsightly mix of lion, crocodile, and hippo parts, and insatiably hungry for wicked souls. Visit JIGOKU, a Buddhist realm of eight fiery hells and eight icy hells: an all-you-can-suffer hot-and-cold buffet. Step into the INFERNO for a tour of Dante's nine circles of the damned...
