Postmodernism is one of the most revolutionary and transformative ideological movements to emerge in the history of counseling and psychotherapy. However, descriptions of postmodernism are often abstract and philosophical, thereby making it difficult for practitioners to discern concrete ways that the ideology might enrich their ability to help clients. In Postmodern Perspectives on Contemporary Counseling Issues, contributions from expert scholars and practitioners clearly detail the implications of postmodern ideology for counseling practice. Contemporary issues such as trauma, addiction, social justice advocacy, couples counseling, and education are conceptualized within a postmodern context, and creative treatment options are illustrated with numerous case examples. Although the broad, conceptual details of postmodernism are reviewed, the primary focus of this text is on innovative ways to help clients with solution-focused, narrative, and other postmodern approaches. The rich descriptions of the implementation of postmodern approaches and techniques make it an invaluable training tool for supervisors and counselor educators. The book is also ideal for counselors, psychotherapists, and other helping professionals who would like to bolster and enliven their practice with cutting-edge methods, tools, and techniques derived from postmodern ideology.

"Male And Female Collision from Misunderstanding to Comprehension, Harmony and Symphony" is a book about misunderstanding between males and females, and how to handle such a situation. It is true that males and females are almost unable to lead a healthy relationship in many fields, yet it is the partnership of male and female in love and marriage that has always obsessed all. This book concentrates on these relations, taking us toward understanding our better halves. Dr Shueibi gives preferences to such relationships by shedding light on some unknown and neglected details. The phrase the author begins his book with “you just don’t understand”, shows how common and frequent the male-female misunderstanding is, and how both have different understanding of their partner and their way of thinking which, sooner or later, will end in their collision. Dr. Shueibi insisted on the fact that males and females are completely different natures. To achieve harmony, they both should be aware of this truth. It is not only that they think differently, but they also speak two structurally-different languages. The author concludes his book with so many techniques that help postpone collision and help better life. This is really good, but I find it somewhat boring and classical (unlike all what has been presented in the book) because of the instructive way he uses and the excessive number of advice. This book could possibly help a reader to change his/her life, by changing perspectives and understanding the partner. So, it is not totally a matter of changing, it is about learning to accept the other, excuse, contain and understand.
The second part of this volume comprises four essays on Durand’s music, contributed by three of his former composition students -- Christian Asplund, Eric Flesher, and Ryan M. Hare -- and by his colleague, music theorist Jonathan W. Bernard, who has also edited and introduced this absorbing portrait of the composer.
Situated Sex and Knower is a book that deals with the biological and cognitive differences between males and females. It shows clearly how they are structurally different, something which results in differences in behavior, thinking and reactions. In this book, Professor Shueibi goes back in time to the early stages of a fetus's formation when they were in their mothers' uterus. He, from a biological point of view, tells us that the differences between males and females can go to the phase of mitosis, which determines what kind of brain the to-be-born baby is going to be; i.e., femininely or masculinely formed. The way a fetus' brain is formed tells what kind of person they will be, cognitively, emotionally and sexually. Therefore, every person has a specific sexual and cognitive imprint which tells about the way they gain and handle knowledge, let alone the emotional and sexual nature they enjoy. Later, the author informs us how hormones can highly affect a person's behavior and temperament, and how the proportions of estrogen and testosterone can play a vital role in building a person and determining the masculinity or femininity of their brain. Anyway, this book is, if carefully handled, the manual and operational guide to master the tools that enable you of dealing with your female and turning your relationship into an undepletable treasure-house that no matter how much jewelry you grasp, still you find much more waiting for you with the same charm and shine.
