In this book, along with the freedom fighters of India, sacrifices of those brave soldiers of India are also mentioned who made their important contribution in the defense of India after its Independence. This book "75 Unsung Heroes of India" is dedicated to all the true heroes and patriots of the country. We all should respect these great soldiers and freedom fighters wholeheartedly and their sacrifice for the country should never be forgotten.
The tales of the 75 courageous women who gladly gave their lives to secure our freedom are narrated in the book "Forgotten Gems". In addition to the freedom fighters whose martyrdom is known to the entire world, this book talks about the brave women whose sacrifice was lost to obscurity. Along with India's freedom fighters, this book includes the names of courageous Indian women who, following their country's independence, played a significant role in both the creation of the Constitution and its upkeep. "Forgotten Gems" is a book dedicated to all real brave women, mothers and patriots. We should all have the utmost respect for these great and valiant freedom fighters and never forget their sacrifices for the nation.
Education universally is considered as an instrument of empowerment. It makes everyone aware of human rights and gives voice to voiceless. Women being one of the vulnerable communities not only in India but across the globe can leverage the medium of education for their freedom. Indian history in this scenario leads the globe when in 1848 Mahatma Phule and Savitribai Phule opened school for girl’s education, which became first such initiative specifically for women education. In this backdrop researcher would try to peek into the educational policies which start from Wood’s despatch of 1854, till the recent NEP 2020.
I have great pleasure in placing the report of One Day National Seminar on Forgotten Heroes: Stories of Unsung Heroes, Freedom Fighters”. The background of this National Seminar , undertaken with the financial assistance of Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. The Seminar attempted to recall and remember forgotten Heroes of our freedom movement, many of whom might be renowed yet unknown to the new generation. The aim of recalling and bringing forth stories, which lay as faded memories of the past, shall serve as a medium of inspiration and encouragement for the coming generations. The spirit of India is incomplete whilst we atke our unsung heroes along this journey of grwoth and development. Their ethos and principles ought to be recalled and respected.
