Research into high-Tc materials demands the co-operation of physicists, chemists and materials scientists to discover the best solutions to the most important challenges presented by the field. In the fifth annual Workshop on High Temperature Superconductors and Novel Inorganic Materials Engineering, the topic is extended beyond high-Tc superconductivity to include other advanced oxide materials, mainly colossal magnetoresistance materials, which are closely related to the ceramic superconductors. This book covers the synthesis, characterisation (both structural and physical) and engineering of this class of materials.
Book "Superconductors - Properties, Technology, and Applications" gives an overview of major problems encountered in this field of study. Most of the material presented in this book is the result of authors' own research that has been carried out over a long period of time. A number of chapters thoroughly describe the fundamental electrical and structural properties of the superconductors as well as the methods researching those properties. The sourcebook comprehensively covers the advanced techniques and concepts of superconductivity. It's intended for a wide range of readers.
This book explores the fascinating field of high-temperature superconductivity. Basic concepts–including experimental techniques and theoretical issues–are discussed in a clear, systematic manner. In addition, the most recent research results in the measurements, materials synthesis and processing, and characterization of physical properties of high-temperature superconductors are presented. Researchers and students alike can use this book as a comprehensive introduction not only to superconductivity but also to materials-related research in electromagnetic ceramics. Special features of the book: presents recent developments in vortex-state properties, defects characterization, and phase equilibrium introduces basic concepts for experimental techniques at low temperatures and high magnetic fields provides a valuable reference for materials-related research discusses potential industrial applications of high-temperature superconductivity includes novel processing technologies for thin film and bulk materials suggests areas of research and specific problems whose solution can make high-Tc superconductors a practical reality
This book presents the current knowledge about superconductivity in high Tc cuprate superconductors. There is a large scientific interest and great potential for technological applications. The book discusses all the aspects related to all families of cuprate superconductors discovered so far. Beginning with the phenomenon of superconductivity, the book covers: the structure of cuprate HTSCs, critical currents, flux pinning, synthesis of HTSCs, proximity effect and SQUIDs, possible applications of high Tc superconductors and theories of superconductivity. Though a high Tc theory is still awaited, this book describes the present scenario and BCS and RVB theories. The second edition was significantly extended by including film-substrate lattice matching and buffer layer considerations in thin film HTSCs, brick-wall microstructure in the epitaxial films, electronic structure of the CuO2 layer in cuprates, s-wave and d-wave coupling in HTSCs and possible scenarios of theories of high Tc superconductivity.
The Seventh International Symposium on Superconductivity brought together researchers at the forefront of all fields such as physics, chemistry, materials, production engineering, and electronic and electrical engineering, once again underlining the interdisciplinary nature of high-temperature superconductivity. Speakers shared their latest findings in the fundamental physics and chemistry; superconductors in the form of individual devices and systems. This comprehensive volume will prove indispensable for all who are involved in high-temperature superconductivity research.
This book is a collection of proceedings of a symposium organized by the North Carolina Section of the American Chemical Society on the preparations, properties, and processing of high-temperature superconducting materials. The proceedings include papers of new results presented at the symposium.
