Mandala (Sanskrit: मण्डल Maṇḍala, 'circle') is a spiritual as well as ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the actual Universe. The basic form of the majority of mandalas is a square having four gates containing a circle with a center point. Each gate is in the common shape of a T. Mandalas often exhibit radial balance. The meaning of the Sanskrit term, mandala, also means essence, containing, circle, cycle and closure. In the last few years, creating and coloring mandalas became very common and It is known that the process helps people tremendously, both children and adults. Brain research has examined and found that the right hemisphere of our brain is responsible for creativity and emotions and the left hemisphere is responsible for the logical, practical and rational. When one is active, the other acts inactive - and vice versa. For example, when we experience some kind of emotional experience that requires a solution it's almost impossible to be solved logically, because the right hemisphere of the brain is active. When we paint Mandalas, something wonderful and rare happens, a situation where the two cerebral hemispheres work simultaneously. All this happens because a painted mandala runs parallel to both our creative side, by the choice of colors and combining them, and on the other hand requires us to act mechanically. In fact, balance and harmony between the two cerebral hemispheres during painting a Mandela brought to a state of inner peace and calm, just like meditation. As in meditation so is coloring mandalas our mind moves to a slower frequency, allowing it to reach higher states of concentration and relaxation, as well as to increase our self-healing ability. Coloring mandalas can help children and Adults who suffer from ADHD to concentrate and achieve a state of relaxation, help reduce the stress and pressure, promote mental clarity and even reduce pain (by the secretion of endorphins to the brain). People who control the slow transition frequencies voluntarily are generally considered successful people in their field and they seem to have the ability to make better decisions.
