Each year, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Nat. Immunization Program, in partnership with CDC¿s Nat. Center for Health Statistics, conducts the Nat. Immunization Survey (NIS) within all 50 states, District of Columbia, & selected geographic areas within the states. Since July 2001, breastfeeding questions have been asked on the NIS to assess the population¿s breastfeeding practices. Children are 19 to 35 months old at the time of the interview. This report presents nat. trends in breastfeeding practices for children born 1999-2004. The information on children born in 2004 is from interviews conducted through Dec. of 2006. Includes socio-demographic charts, tables & maps for birth years 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, & 2004.
